About Paul Mohapel

Paul began his career as a neuroscientist, and while working in Sweden he had an epiphany that inspired him to leave science and move towards leadership. Today, he uses his knowledge of the brain, psychology, and leadership to consult, facilitate and educate with organizations. He works with a wide array of clients, ranging from private corporations, government, and health care. He is an associate faculty member at Royal Roads University and the Canadian Medical Association, teaching in leadership. He also conducts some research in leadership, having published over 30 academic articles. He has been invited as a guest speaker to over twenty international conferences. Paul is also an aspiring author, currently writing his first book on brain-based leadership.

Paul has recently been incorporating mindfulness-based approaches in his leadership work. He believes that effective leadership requires a holistic approach that integrates the emotional, spiritual, social and physical domains. His areas of expertise include emotional intelligence, mindfulness, engagement, interpersonal communication, team processes, and strength-based leadership.
